Star Delta convention for solving resistor circuits

Let us assume these two circuits
These two circuits are identical between the points 1,2 and 3.
To convert them from one to other use the formulae mentioned below.




  • R1=R13.R13/(R12+R13+R23)
  • R2=R12.R23/(R12+R13+R23)
  • R3=R13.R23/(R12+R13+R23)
And for reverse
  • R12=R1R2+R2R3+R1R3 /R3
  • R23=R1R2+R2R3+R1R3 /R1
  • R31=R1R2+R2R3+R1R3 /R2
